Break Your Silence Otherwise You Will Destroy Yourself or Society!

1. Unexpressed Hurt Feelings:
• What you are doing: Holding onto anger and resentment without expressing your hurt feelings.
• Ultimate bad result: Unconsciously, bitterness will be expressed in your words and action towards
that other person. Toxic relationships and potential for explosive outbursts.
• Risk in Taking Right Action: You might fear confrontation or reopening old wounds.
• Overcoming Risk: Acknowledge your emotions. Prepare what you want to say calmly and clearly.
Focus on resolving the issue, not placing blame. Don’t exaggerate the problem. Limit yourself on
instances or facts and don’t move towards person as a whole or habit or nature. Sandwich the bad
instance with some good instance or good personality traits.
• New Action: Practice healthy communication and actively resolve conflicts.

2. Holding the Right Questions:

• What you are doing: Not raising questions which is needed for understanding things or increasing
your knowledge. Agreeing to things you don’t want to or can’t handle due to fear of rejection.
• Ultimate bad result: Knowledge is the single most important thing for your growth and you are
depriving yourself of it. If you are in a conversation or lecture you may not understand the points or
things coming subsequently.
• Risk in Taking Right Action: You might worry about being humiliated or degraded if answer to your
question is obvious and the question give impression that you have less knowledge than other
participants.
• Overcoming Risk: Practice assertive communication. If anybody say something to degrade you,
either respond to it appropriately or trust that in future your wrong impression will be rectified
automatically.
• New Action: Prioritize continuous update of your knowledge and ultimately your growth .

3. Stifled Appreciation:

• What you are doing: Withholding praise from others who deserve it.
• Ultimate bad result: A lack of motivation and a discouraged environment. The person doing the
right action may not continue this practice and you and the society may be deprived of good action
and practice.
• Risk in Taking Right Action: That person may feel proud of himself or herself or he may win any
competition going on or future works with that person will be difficult and costly for you.
• Overcoming Risk: Be specific in your praise. Do not generalize things on a person as a whole.
Mention the effort or skill you admire. A genuine compliment can be powerful. The genuine praise
may result in improved relationship.
• New Action: Express sincere appreciation for good work and achievements.

4. Bystander to Bad Behavior Towards Others

• What you are doing: Staying silent when you witness negativity or injustice.
• Ultimate bad result: A culture of negativity and disrespect. More acts of bad behavior go
unchecked. Also, bad behavior will one day effect you as well.
• Risk in Taking Right Action: You might fear retaliation or social awkwardness.
• Overcoming Risk: Start small. If directly confronting feels uncomfortable, document the behavior
or find an ally to speak up with you. Read point 1 same heading.
• New Action: Call out negativity and advocate for positive change.

5. Fearful & quote ;Yes & quote; Sayers

• What you are doing: Agreeing to things you don’t want to or can’t handle.
• Ultimate bad result: Burnout, resentment towards others, and neglecting your own needs.
• Risk for you: Feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, and ultimately unable to fulfill commitments.
• Overcome the Risk: Practice assertiveness. It’s okay to say no politely but firmly.
• New Action: Prioritize your well-being and set healthy boundaries.
Remember, breaking your silence can be empowering. Manage your Risk, Speak your truth, express
your needs, and actively participate in creating a positive and supportive environment.
